ITAG Annual Industry Awards

 Each year, ITAG rewards the achievements  and encourages further success of its outstanding members through the ITAG Industry Awards. The winners of the 2009 ITAG Annual Industry Awards were announced at the ITAG Awards Gala Dinner in the Meyrick Hotel on Friday 20 November.

ITAG Award Categories


1. ICT Management Professional of the Year
 
Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in the management of Information & Communication Technologies, or a related discipline, within their company.

2. Young IT Practitioner of the Year

This award recognises dedication, drive and the potential for further achievement among the future leaders of our technology industry. To be eligible for the award, the individual must have a maximum of five years IT industry experience.

3. Technology Sales & Marketing Campaign of the Year
 
Awarded to a company, organisation or department who have excelled in technology sales and marketing. They will have demonstrated innovative thinking and practice to achieve a significant positive result.

4. IT Research and Development

Research and development is the engine of the IT industry, ensuring the continued success and growth of the sector. This award will go to an individual or team who has made an innovation break-through, or has otherwise made an invaluable contribution to IT research and development within their company or within the wider industry in general.

5. ITAG Schools Initiative Award
 
Awarded to an individual, school or group who have shown significant initiative in the deployment of ICT infrastructure and applications in education, at first or second level.


6. Emerging ICT Company
 
Awarded to a company that is less than 4 years in existence and that has demonstrated significant growth, innovation, excellence, and future potential over the course of its short history.

7. Academic Contribution to ICT in Galway
 
The company members of ITAG greatly value their strong relationship with the academic institutions in Galway and the western regional. This award goes to an individual or group within an academic institution who has made a notable contribution to Information and Communication Technology in Galway.

8. Outstanding Contribution to the Galway ICT Sector
 
This award recognizes individuals who go the extra mile in their commitment to excellence in their company and their industry and who have made a consistent and valued contribution to the Information and Communications Technology sector in Galway.

9. IT Project of the Year
 
Awarded to a company / group in recognition of the successful implementation of a significant and innovative IT project.  The project will have a profound effect on the internal processes and/or operations of the company, or alternatively on that of its customer(s).

There will be two awards in this category, in order to recognise the importance of small and medium sized companies in the Galway region. The first will be for a company with 60 employees or less, and the second for a company with over 60 employees.

10. ICT Company of the Year
 
Awarded to a company in recognition of excellence in all aspects of their business; including product / service development, sales & marketing, implementation & support, market growth/market positioning, and human resource development.

There will be two awards in this category, in order to recognise the importance of small and medium sized companies in the Galway region. The first will be for a company with 60 employees or less, and the second for a company with over 60 employees.
