Event: Getting the most out of Project 2007

Session will be delivered by UMT Consulting. UMT are Microsoft partners who specialise in Project and Portfolio Management. UMT spend a significant amount of their time providing briefings on how to use Project 2007 most effectively.

Agenda:
The proposed agenda is as follows:
· Best practice using MS Project 2007
· Demonstration of
- ‘Planning’ capability, including creation of tasks, task relationships, WBS, critical paths, constraints, use of work/duration, resources, budgets, custom fields, etc.
- ‘Tracking’ capability, including baselines, actuals through task updates and project updates, filters,
- ‘Reporting’ capability, including ‘copy picture’, out of the box reports, ‘visual reports’ (which are Excel and Visio reports provided in Project – very cool)
· Optional: Differences between Project 2003 and 2007 (if applicable)
· Optional: Differences between Project 2007 and 2010
· Optional: Overview of Project Server in relation to collaborative working – brining Project and SharePoint together
The objective of the briefing is to enable attendees to get more out of Project by giving an insight into the rich functionality provided by Project. This briefing should really help project managers who use or plan to use Project regularly.
